Our story

For over 30 years, Oppies has been part of Rotorua's dining story.

Established in 1996 as a family owned fish and chips shop, Oppies quickly earned a reputation for serving exceptional seafood with genuine hospitality. Through an unwavering commitment to quality, consistency and customer experience, the restaurant grew from a local favourite into one of New Zealand's most recognised names in seafood dining.

Today, while our menu has evolved to celebrate premium New Zealand seafood with Asian inspired flavours, the values that shaped Oppies remain unchanged. Every guest is welcomed like family, every dish is prepared with care, and every visit is an opportunity to create lasting memories.
